KOTA wins a Lovie award for Best Web Design – Aesthetic!

Big news. We’ve taken home Silver at the 2025 Lovie Awards for Best Web Design – Aesthetic for our work with UPP, one of Hollywood’s leading VFX studios.

The project set out to match UPP’s cinematic scale, and the Lovies have confirmed we hit the mark.

A website that moves like a movie

UPP aren’t your average production studio. They’re the people behind Barbie, Blade Runner 2049, and more recently the Hulu TV hit Alien: Earth. They didn’t want a static portfolio. They wanted something that feels like their world: dynamic, layered, and alive.

So we built an experience that moves with intention. Lighting that shifts with time of day. Seamless transitions that feel like camera moves. Motion that directs your eye, not distracts it. Every detail was tuned to carry UPP’s cinematic energy into the browser.

The result is a digital space that looks beautiful, performs fast, and tells a story you want to stick around for.

Why a Lovie win matters

The Lovie Awards are Europe’s biggest celebration of creativity on the internet. They recognise digital work that pushes the medium forward, not just in how it looks, but in how it makes people feel. Past winners include the BBC, Adidas, and Spotify!

To be named among them in Best Web Design – Aesthetic means our work with UPP stood out for its craft, storytelling, and impact. It’s a reminder that web design can be cinematic. And that craft still cuts through.
