We were honoured to partner with leading restaurant brand Colombo Group as part of a £3m refurbishment for The Jazz Cafe, an iconic Camden venue. Our designers created a complete brand identity for the venue including a new logo, menus and signage, as well as the design and build of The Jazz Cafe website that coincided with the re-launch of the venue.
The brief from Columbo, was to create a visual identity that leant towards Art Deco, but felt very modern and alternative. The diversity of acts that perform at the venue meant The Jazz Cafe's branding needed to be able to sit alongside varying graphic styles and artwork. The brand mark was given a distinctive shape by combining the two letter Z's and dropping the left hand arm from the letter A. The final logo was cut from sheets of bronze and is displayed on the exterior wall as well as in the entrance flooring of the venue. Post re-brand, we crafted a digital platform that enabled the group to promote future events and for users to book with ease. The Jazz Cafe holds live music events featuring eclectic artists from around the world every night in Camden, North London.
"The branding is fantastic! We gave you a near-on impossible brief, as we ourselves didn’t quite know what we wanted. However, you have managed to create a brand identity that is perfect for the venue. Well done guys!"
